The LIFE Programme

The LIFE Programme

The LIFE programme is the EU’s funding instrument for the environment and climate action. The general objective of LIFE is to contribute to the implementation, updating and development of EU environmental and climate policy and legislation by co-financing projects with European added value.

The new LIFE programme 2021-2027 will focus on developing and implementing innovative ways to respond to environment and climate challenges thereby catalysing changes in policy development, implementation and enforcement. It will also ensure sufficient flexibility to address new and critical priorities as they emerge during the programme’s duration.
